At Kettlewell Primary School, everyone is treated as an individual. Children are taught in small mixed aged classes. Each Key Stage has its own classroom and our dedicated KS1 and KS2 teachers and Teaching Assistants are supplemented by specialist subject teachers from Upper Wharfedale Secondary School for Food Technology, Music, PE and French. Peripatetic music teachers are available for guitar, piano, singing and other instruments on request. The children benefit from co-operative working with a cluster of 6 local schools, particularly for team sports, Drama, Art and DT and shared trips.
Free home to school transport is provided throughout Upper Wharfedale, Langstrothdale and Littondale for all children living more than 2 miles from school. Extended hours can be provided through WOOSH (‘Wharfedale Out Of School Hours’) at Upper Wharfedale School. Transport from Kettlewell School is provided to the club.
We aim for each child to leave our school happy, fulfilled and well prepared for the next stage of their education.
Prevent Strategy Information for Parents and Carers.
In all we do we seek to promote high self-esteem for everyone in our school and distinguish ourselves by the quality of care we provide to all members of the school community.
Choosing a school which will provide the best education for your child is one of the most important decisions that a parent has to make. We are delighted to welcome prospective parents and pupils to come and find out more about our excellent school, meet the Head and have a look around to see what makes Burnsall VA Primary so very special.
We are a small, Christian school where every child is valued as an individual. We encourage everyone to develop their own talents and interests as well as become proficient in the key skills. We have high standards and are proud of our pupils’ achievements. Our talented teaching team is supported by dedicated teaching assistants and specialist teachers in PE and Music. The pupils benefit from co-operative working with our Upper Wharfedale cluster of 6 local schools and with the pupils at our sister school Cracoe and Rylstone Primary, with whom we are Formally Collaborated.
